An outing with Devi today! We arranged to meet at 3pm in Somerset to shop for intern clothing since I did not buy enough clothing to last me a week yet (especially tops).
My mom had to go Waterway Point with my relatives so we had to part from home. This is her face when she thinks she cannot go shopping with her daughter on a Saturday.
My ugly overgrown dinosaur nails
So I waited for Devi at 313@Somerset. When she arrived, I asked to go to Emerald Hill which is just across the street. I heard about it online. It’s a place where Peranakan-styled shophouses were. It is a popular insta spot because of the artsy architecture you hardly will see in modern Singapore.
When I reached there, I was actually surprised to see the number of both tourists and locals all taking photos of the area. I knew it was popular but to see photographers everywhere I was shocked. Like really no one is there not taking photos.
After, we went to Forever21 back at 313 Somerset. Followed by H&M.
Then, we thought we should just go to Dhoby Ghaut since Devi wanted to buy a dress from Dorothy Perkins at Plaza Singagpura.
She got her dress and then Vivian asked where were we. We told her we were at Plaza Singapura but I guess she was tired of that place so she told us she won’t be coming to meet us…
With nothing to do left, we decided to watch a movie. But before that, we went to Eighteen Chefs at The Cathay for dinner.
I got myself waffles which I thought was worth it for it’s presentation. $6~ Devi and I also shared fries!
We were hesitating between How To Be Single and Zootopia. I actually wanted How To Be Single but Devi said Zootopia was strongly recomended by her friends. So we went ahead with Zootopia. Because it’s always better to hear from those who already watched.
Very excited! Walking to the movie theatre with a bunch of kids…
Really did not regret choosing Zootopia. It’s very funny and it made me like cartoons more. It’s so light-hearted and the feeling of leaving the theatre after watching it is very shiok. You keep thinking of the movie over and over again. I like Judy and the sloth ironically named Flash LOL Never laughed that hard before. Nearly could not breathe over the sloth scene. HAHA there was this jumpscare scene when Nick and Judy breached the prison where the violent victims were held captive. I yelled and no one else did. Don’t know how embarassed I was back there HAHA.
I think after today, I find myself liking extreme movies. Either very comedic or very dark/scary. No in betweens. Maybe because I get to express extreme feelings which I don’t usually do everyday. Thrill is so hard to come by. And laughter too. Such movies makes my heart pump faster since either it’s too funny or too scary. The feeling is very good.
We went home right after the movie as it was already 9pm… Goodbye…
I’d like to watch another cartoon again. I saw the trailer for Pets before Zootopia screened in the theatre and I thought it seemed pretty funny and quirky. Next time perhaps!
